Dengue fever and influenza are among the most common infectious diseases in Malaysia. Early prevention measures and timely treatment are crucial to avoiding more serious complications.

Warning Signs of Dengue Fever to Watch Out For:

  • Prolonged high fever (lasting more than 2–3 days)
  • Severe headaches and pain behind the eyes
  • Joint and muscle aches
  • Red rashes on the skin
  • Nausea and vomiting

Prevention Steps at Home:

  1. Eliminate Mosquito Breeding Sites: Ensure there is no stagnant water in flower pots or waste containers.
  2. Screening Tests (Swab & Blood Test): Visit the clinic for a rapid dengue test or influenza swab if fever persists.
  3. Immunisation & Vaccination: Get an annual influenza vaccine injection for personal and family protection.

When Should You See a Doctor?

You should seek medical attention immediately if:

  • Fever does not subside after 2 days of home care
  • You notice a sudden drop in platelet count (rapid dengue test)
  • There is unexplained bruising or bleeding gums
  • You feel very weak or dizzy

At Sakinah Medcare Clinic, we provide rapid dengue screening tests, influenza swabs, IV drip therapy for dehydration, and vaccination services.
